Multiple people transported to hospital after crash in Sparks

4:50pm - Sparks Police say the investigation revealed that a Tahoe was going east on I Street at a high rate of speed, and witnesses said it never slowed down for the stop sign at Rock Boulevard. As it entered the intersection, it hit a station wagon that was going south on Rock Boulevard. The Tahoe started to roll after impact and hit the curb and fence of a home on the southeast corner of Rock and I, where the five occupants were ejected, and came to rest against a parked Toyota Camry.

Officers found that two had fled from the scene in the 900 block of G Street, and one appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle, but fled on foot. He was transported to Renown, as were five people from the scene of the crash who had a variety of injuries, but nothing appeared life-threatening.

The driver of the Tahoe was a juvenile, according to Sparks Police and suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver of the station wagon was also transported to Renown with non life-threatening injuries.
