Power outages affect customers in northern Nevada

NV Energy reports that 250 customers are without power in northern Nevada, with 142 affected in Washoe County.


With high winds swirling across the region, NV Energy reports that multiple power outages are affecting customers in northern Nevada.

As of 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, more than 4,200 customers are without power in northern Nevada, with about 2,800 affected in Douglas County and roughly 1,300 affected in Washoe County, according to the utility company's outage website.

The cause of the outages are listed as equipment problems.

The majority of the outages in Washoe County are in the North Valleys area, where the estimated restoration times range from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m.

In Douglas County, where most of the outages are in the Gardnerville area, power is projected to be restored at around 8 a.m.
