Meet Democratic Congresswoman Jacky Rosen, who's running against Dean Heller in 2018

Las Vegas Congresswoman Jacky Rosen officially announced Thursday she will run against Republican Senator Dean Heller in the 2018 midterm elections.

Rosen, a freshman Democrat representing Nevada's congressional district 3, was a computer programmer and synagogue president before running for public office in 2016.

Both Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Congressman Ruben Kihuen endorsed Rosen Thursday after announcing her bid.

Dean Heller is seen as one of the most vulnerable Republican Senators in 2018. A Heller campaign spokesman said in a statement Thursday: "Thought Nevada was free of Harry Reid? Think again."

Rosen led Heller by one percentage point in a recent poll of likely Nevada voters done by Public Policy Polling.

News 4 interviewed Rosen about healthcare, efforts to revive the Yucca Mountain project, and whether former Senator Harry Reid encouraged her to run.
