Local pizza shop gears up for Super bowl
RENO, Nev. (NEWS 4 & FOX 11) —
Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest pizza delivery days of the year, which means many local pizzerias were busy making the rounds.
"This is probably our busiest day of the year," said Lamppost Pizza general manager Miles Brandon. "Just the amount of volume that we get is just intense."
Brandon explained that there could be up to 70 orders in one hour, almost all set for delivery. He said that's four times the normal amount during an hour.
According to the Ann Arbor-based pizza company, nearly 13 million slices of pizza will be ordered across the country on Super Bowl Sunday.
Lamppost Pizza is known for serving gluten-free pizzas and wings. The restaurant is also one of the few places in town that accept bitcoins.
