WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The driver in Monday's deadly crash on I-580 North of Bowers Mansion has been identified as 95-year-old Dorothy S. Hunter. Hunter was a resident of Gardnerville, according to a press release sent by NHP Trooper Dave Gibson.

WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle car crash on I-580 southbound approximately two miles north of Bowers Mansion in Washoe County Monday afternoon.
The crash investigation details indicate a 2007 Silver KIA Rio driven by an elderly Gardnerville woman left the roadway for unknown reasons, struck and bounced off the concrete wall on the left shoulder. The car then traveled across all southbound travel lanes and struck the concrete wall on the right with its front, according to a press release sent by NHP Trooper Dave Gibson.
The vehicle then came to rest in two left lanes of southbound I-580. The elderly female driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to the press release, the driver was not wearing her seatbelt. Speed, alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the accident, Trooper Gibson said. No other vehicles are believed to be involved in the accident.
There are three lanes in both the north and south travel lanes. The speed limit in this area is posted as 70 mph.

WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A deadly crash on Interstate 580 is blocking three lanes, and traffic is being diverted to the center median.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle incident happened in the southbound lanes at Browns Creek in Washoe County. The occupant was female.
NDOT estimates that the lanes will be clear within the hour.
NHP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
