When club owner Amber Borden heard of the tragedy, she felt like she had to do something to help.
She says the tragedy hit extremely close to home, several law enforcement agents who frequent the club on Vista Blvd responded to the shooting. She also says the husband of one of her members is a teacher at Sparks Middle School and was close to Mr. Landsberry.
"Hike for Mike" is for people of all fitness levels and of all ages. It doesn't cost anything to attend, but donations are encouraged.
The first 100 people to make a donation of at least $10 will receive an Anytime Fitness goodie bag.
Amber says there will be refreshments and raffle prizes as well. She encourages people to come out and bond as a community.
The hike will be from 9am-11am. You can bring your dog as long as it is on a leash. The meeting spot will be at Borden's club located at 3170 Vista Boulevard, just north of Baring Blvd in Sparks.
There will also be a banner for people to sign for the victims of the shooting.
