Guards can now turn on people's electronics when crossing U.S. border

(KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- According to a new report, the federal government has decided it can legally turn on your computer and look through your files when you cross the U.S. border without a warrant.

The Department of Homeland Security revealed warrants or even "reasonable suspicions" are not needed by border patrol agents searching for prohibited items.

The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a Freedom of Information Request Act, saying they want to see the government's full report and analysis on border searches of electronics.
