Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies ID two people with gunshot wounds

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a man and a woman with gunshot wounds in Wellington on Monday evening.

According to Douglas Co. Sheriff Sgt. Bernadette Smith, deputies received a report from 1205 Slate Rd. in the Topaz Ranch Estates in southern Douglas County of two people with gunshot wounds just before 6:45 on Monday, March 20.

Upon arrival, police located 50-year-old Michael Dixon with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported by air ambulance to Renown Medical Center. The Douglas County Sheriff's office originally reported that Dixon had died.

According to Sgt. Smith, 60-year-old Cathy Clark was also located inside the house with a serious gunshot wound. She was also transported to a Reno hospital.

Both were residents of the location but their relationship is still being determined.

The investigation is continuing.
