Coffeebar Reno raises money for cancer research

RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Coffee beans, wines, and artwork made up a night of fundraising at the Coffeebar Reno. The artwork displayed was called "After // Before," and consisted of people who shaved their heads to support a loved one who has suffered from cancer. Photographer Jaime Kingham said he met amazing people through this experience.

"It's people's identity and there are people willing to just shave it off for the sake of a lost loved one, or some people just do it because they want to give something back to the community," said Kingham.

The event was also partnered with the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation to raise money for cancer research. All proceeds and funds raised for the event went straight to the cause.

"It's just a big picture collection of amazing people who have just opened their hearts and wanted to raise money for pediatric cancer research, but their motivations are so heartfelt," said Lisa Shaffer, community relations for NNCCF.
