Tony Marini is an operations director with the Eldorado Resort, but on Thursday he was a guest principal at Hunter Lake Elementary School in Reno.

The Washoe County School District brought in business leaders from the Reno-Sparks area to shadow principals at various schools in the district.

Officials with the school district said the event would give people a chance to observe education first-hand and share ideas with those in education.

The event took place as the school district looks to cut between $20 and $28 million from the budget. A recent survey found that more than half of respondents would want to cut the salaries of administrators.
