Bridgeport residents asked to reduce water use during sewage system repairs
BRIDGEPORT, Cal. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Mono County officials are asking Bridgeport residents to reduce their water use because ground water is invading an effluent sewage system there.
Officials said snow melt is causing the ground water to seep into the effluent system.
The Bridgeport Public Utility District is making repairs in at least two locations.
Mono County officials said there is no danger to potable water, but they are asking residents to cut down on their water use to relieve any strain on the system until repairs are completed.
They said the Bridgeport Paiute Indian Colony is not affected.
Officials expect the effluent system to be fixed within 48 hours.
