Bicyclist dies after car crash in South Lake Tahoe
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
A bicyclist has died after a crash involving a vehicle Saturday in South Lake Tahoe, according to police.
Officers responded on Saturday, May 13, to the intersection of Lake Tahoe and Takela boulevards for a crash between a car and bicycle.
The cyclist was taken to a hospital but later died, a spokeswoman said in a statement. The driver did not suffer any injuries.
Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol to be factors int he crash, but the cause is still under investigation. The name of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Police in South Lake Tahoe also remind the public that traffic will increase as summer approaches, and that anyone using the roads should always be aware of their surroundings.
