8-year-old Reno girl "stands" against cancer
RENO, Nev. (News 4) —
Eight-year-old Peyton Ricciardi has been busy over the last few golf seasons at Somersett Golf and Country Club in Northwest Reno.
She stations herself right between holes near her home and sells Pro V-1 golf balls that she collects from the bushes with her dad, along with lemonade and cookies to golfers driving by.
Ricciardi's had quite a lot of success during tournaments, raising $225 for the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation last year. This summer, she's raised $845 that will go to the family of a 3-year-old little boy named Brady, who is currently battling leukemia.
Her business plan - recruiting Brady's cousins and some friends to help sell her stuff and charging low prices - seems to bring in big tips.
Great job Peyton and keep up the good work!
