United Airlines announces non-stop flight from Reno to Chicago

United Airlines will soon begin offering non-stop service from Reno to Chicago.

The Reno-Tahoe International Airport announced on Monday that daily service would begin on June 8 this year. United joins American and Southwest airlines in offering service to the Windy City.

The route is seasonal, according to a spokesperson for the airport, and is scheduled to conclude on Sept. 5.

"This route is key for both business and leisure, and also offers dozens of connections to the east coast and approximately 50 international destinations, so we are pleased United is filling the need. Now it is up to the community to fill the seats to keep this vital service," Marily Mora, president and CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, said in a statement.

Flights will leave Reno at 11:20 p.m., arriving at Chicago O'Hare International Airport at 5 a.m. CST. Flights would leave O'Hare at 7:35 p.m., arriving in Reno at 9:45 p.m. PST.
