A 5th grade student at Lemmon Valley Elementary School is setting an amazing example for her peers to follow and this month she is News Four's Class Act Award Winner!

Recently evening anchor Shelby Sheehan surprised Meicha Lapuz with the award during a school assembly.

Lapuz's 5th grade teacher says "Meicha is a very caring and considerate person. She will be one of the first to check in with someone who might be sad or needing help."

The staff at Lemmon Valley Elementary School say she is a model student who brings her strong work ethic and dedication to school with her every day.

At home she helps out with her 4 siblings and likes to cook for her family, but as soon as she steps on to campus, she becomes the big sister watching out for everyone else too.

Lapuz has earned a leadership role in the classroom and is where students often turn for help with social or academic problems.

Congratulations to Meicha Lapuz, News Four's Class Act Award Winner!
