Places to celebrate the 4th of July in the Reno, Sparks, Tahoe region
Let freedom ring! Independence Day is on Tuesday, Jul. 4, 2017 and there are some spectacular firework shows planned around the region.
Star Spangled Sparks
Sparks is getting a head start on the celebrations with two days of fireworks. Events will take place on Saturday, Jul. 1 and Tuesday, Jul. 4. starting at 4 p.m.
The region's longest firework display is set off from the top of the Nugget Hotel & Casino in Victorian Square.
Events are free to the public. There will be live entertainment, food vendors, craft booths, drinks, games, a kid's area, and much more.
4th of July at Greater Nevada Field
A big firework show will light up the skies of downtown Reno from Aces Ballpark.
Fireworks will start immediately after the Aces game against the Tacoma Rainiers.
The game starts at 6:35 p.m.

4th of July at Artown
Artown kicks off on the first of July, and there will be several patriotic events to celebrate American's independence.
The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus will host a family friendly event on Tuesday, Jul. 4 with choreographed fireworks. It will start at 7:30 p.m. and wrap up around 10 p.m.
All events are free and will take place at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno.
4th of July on the comstock in Virginia City
Virginia City offers an authentic, hometown Independence Day experience.
The parade will kick-off at noon on Jul. 4. There will be raffles and auctions, Comstock Cowboys Second Amendment Concert, old-west shootouts, shopping, train rides, and a large firework display after dark.
Lights on the lake in South Lake Tahoe
This is considered one of the best firework displays in the nation.
The firework show will begin roughly at 9:45 p.m. on Jul. 4 and can be seen all across South Lake Tahoe beaches.
The program will be simulcast on local radio station KRLT-FM 93.9 and KOWL-AM 1490.
Genoa Americana Celebration
Come out to Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa and discover the Genoa Americana Celebration starting at 10 a.m.
The event is free to all and includes a parade, games, live music, chicken BBQ and jam sessions.
The Carson City Symphony will preform at 4:30 p.m.
North Lake Tahoe celebrations at Incline Village, Kings Beach & Tahoe City
The Red, White & Tahoe Blue Celebration in Incline Village will be held from July 1 t July 4. Fireworks at scheduled for July 4 at 9:30 p.m.
The 38th Annual July 3rd Fireworks and Beach Party at Kings Beach is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 3.
The Tahoe City 4th of July Ginormous Fireworks Show & Family Beach Day is set for the entire day at Commons Beach.
