Food Options:

-La Fonda de Don Juan Mexican Restaurant, 4385 Neil Rd. is offering a free dinner, starting at 5pm, for all firefighters, police, paramedics, and Red Cross staff and volunteers. Dinner starts at 5pm and goes through 9pm. Thank you for all you do. We are working to identify victims to offer a free dinners or lunches as well over the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with our heroes and our neighbors in this difficult time.

-The Blind Onion's Sparks & S. Virginia locations will be donating 10% of proceeds this weekend to those affected by the fire.

-India Kabab and Curry Restaurant 1091 S. Virginia St. Reno, NV 89502 will give 25%. India Kabab and Curry Restaurant has offered help in the way of food to the Red Cross.

Hotels offering deals to people affected by the fire:

The Victorian Inn in Sparks is offering free housing for the families being evacuated due to the fire. First come, first serve. Bring your local ID. Address: 1555 Victorian Avenue Sparks, 89431

Club Cal Neva Hotel and Casino in Downtown Reno is offering complimentary rooms for the nights of November 18 - 20 for evacuees of the Caughlin Ranch fire. Call 775.323.1046 PETS OK.

Grand Sierra Resort: For those that have been displace by the fires, we have rooms starting at $29/night and we are waiving the resort and pet fees.

Eldorado is offering a $39 room rate to those affected by the fire. No pets. 775-786-5700.

Peppermill is waiving resort fees and will have rooms starting at $29 per night for those affected by the Caughlin Fire. We are also accepting pets in our West Wing rooms.

Silver Legacy is offering a special casino rate of $39.00 for displaced community members as a result of the fire. Call 325-7401 to book a room.

Circus Circus $29 room rate and limited number of kennels for pets that are being offered for free.

Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino is offering $69 rate for local residents affected by the fire. Call the hotel directly at 775-832-1234. They have a limited number of rooms that will accommodate pets as well.

Atlantis will offer a $29 room rate for tonight to any displaced community members. Please call reservations at 800-723-6500 or visit our reservation desk.

John Ascuaga's Nugget has a $29 room rate for anyone affected by the fire. They can go directly to the Nugget or call 775-356-3300.

The Ramada Hotel (1000 E 6th St) is offering families a special room rate of $29.00. The Ramada is Pet Friendly.

Harrah's Reno is offering $35 rate during the crisis. Pet friendly.

The Tahoe Biltmore Lodge and Casino want to help anybody affected by the Caughlin Fire. We will offer anyone $29 rooms. Tahoe Biltmore located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in Crystal Bay. 1-800-245-8667

Places to board pets safely:

-Washoe County Animal Control has taken in about 15 pets. Some of these pets may have been left at the evacuation center at Reno or Galena High School. Pets can be claimed tomorrow at Animal Control (2825 Longley Lane) between 11am and 1pm. Call 322-3647 during that time to make arrangements as Animal Control is normally closed on Saturdays.

-Feline Rescue Of Northern Nevada is offering FREE boarding for cats at our Cozy Cattery Boarding Resort. Call us at 775-544-4475 for directions, if you need assistance transporting your cat we can get a volunteer to help you.

Reno High School has capacity again for evacuees. The evacuation points are Reno H.S. and Galena H.S.

Nonperishable, and in-kind donations can go to the Salvation Army Headquarters at 2300 Valley Road, just off of Sutro.

The Salvation Army and other VOAD Members Activated for Reno Fire -
Accepting Donations

Northern Nevada VOAD members (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters), including The Salvation Army, have been activated in response to the SW Reno fire.

Part of The Salvation Army's mission is disaster response and assisting victims in the recovery process. So the Army is accepting monetary and household donations. Those who want to help with blankets, food and household items are asked to drop them off at the charity's production warehouse, 2300 Valley Road., 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Saturday. Other drop-off locations are The Salvation Army Thrift Stores from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Saturday. (Addresses are 1925 Sutro St. and 125 Gentry Way in Reno and 180 Winnie Lane in Carson City.) In other community assistance, Harrah's Reno will be providing 300 sandwiches and a pallet of water for emergency personnel lunches today at the fire command center in Galena.
